This is the 21st reported case of tetra-X, the oldest patient (58 years) to date, the first studied at autopsy, and the first with documented congenital heart disease. Hermental retardation may well have been related to widespread deficiency of hemispheral white matter. Death resulted from multiple atrial septal defects.
