Sick Sinus Syndrome in a Patient with Familial PR Prolongation

A young woman with the characteristic features of the "sick sinus syndrome" and first degree A-V block of unknown etiology is presented. A prolonged PR interval with no evidence of sinus node dysfunction was found through four generations of her family. It is postulated that the abnormalities of impulse formation and conduction of this patient, as the prolonged A-V conduction of her family, could he interrelated and of familial origin.
