Bronchial Asthma with "Crossed Splitting" of the Second Heart Sound

"Crossed splitting" of the second heart sound was recognized in the polygraphic tracing of a 75-year-old woman during recovery from an attack of acute bronchial asthma. This ausculatatory finding, not previously reported, is discussed in relation to probable hemodynamic changes associated with bronchial asthma.
