Foramen of Bochdalek Hernia in Adults

Three adults with left sided foramen of Bochdalek hernia were operated upon. One presented with tension pneumothorax, the second with abdominal discomfort and the third with dysphagia. Plain x-ray film of chest, barium meal and barium enema studies are helpfull in the diagnosis of this condition. Transthoracic repair may be easier than the transabdominal repair.
